Karen is a registered counsellor and psychotherapist with over 25 years’ experience. She works with adults around issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, loss, change and life transitions.
Karen’s approach to counselling is flexible. She draws from a wide range of approaches, believing that an Integrated model that is tailored to the unique individual is most beneficial.
Some people want one or 2 sessions to focus on a particular issue. They want assistance to become ‘unstuck’, to feel some relief, to develop an achievable goal where a new and more hopeful way forward is envisaged.
Others want to enter into a longer-term counselling where ones, s past, present and future are equally honoured. The building of a trusting and safe space is vital and Karen’s capacity for understanding and empathy contributes to this meaningful process.
Karen’s counselling continues to be informed by contemporary practice and her teaching of counselling and the supervision she provides to Allied Health Professionals contributes to this.
Karen enjoys being part of the inspirational team at Health Point and she continues to benefit personally and professionally from their holistic approach.
